What to Expect on this Anchorage Wildlife Tour

To start this tour off, you’ll meet your certified Alaskan guide at a designated spot in downtown Anchorage. From there, we’ll take off in our van and head for a drive on one of the most scenic highways in America. You’ll be awestruck by the breathtaking coastal views backdropped by snow-capped mountains.

We’ll stop at great wildlife watching spots along the route like Potter’s Marsh – a birder’s dream, and Beluga Point to look out for whales.

Finally we’ll make our way to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a sanctuary committed to education, research, and the care and conservation of Alaska’s wildlife. At AWCC, you’ll meet a range of animals that they care for there – black bears, brown bears, elk, moose, wood bison, reindeer, lynx and many more! All have been taken in after being orphaned or injured. Learn all about the mission of AWCC, including their ongoing effort to reintroduce wood bison into the Alaskan wilds.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an Alaskan Footprints tour if we didn’t include some amazing grub! We’ll take an hour to treat the group to a unique lunch set up in a beautiful location. Explore the area a bit or sit and chat while your guide prepares a hearty meal for the group with tasty local fare.

You’ll hear stories and learn fascinating facts about Alaska and its history throughout the tour from your experienced guide. At the end of the tour, we’ll head back to downtown Anchorage to drop you off near our meeting point.
