The Only Anchorage Tour Guides Offering Food-Centered Experiences

Once upon a time, two brothers in Alaska had a vision — to create the only food-centered tour operator in Anchorage.

So that’s exactly what we did! In 2021, Dan and Chris Morris founded Alaskan Sights & Bites!

As you’ve probably already guessed, all our Anchorage tours have a focus on food. But we’re far more than a food tour company. Our incredible sightseeing and wildlife excursions in Anchorage and the surrounding areas are truly immersive experiences that engage all the senses. From the tasty bites we eat to the sights, sounds, and smells of the pristine Alaskan wilderness, we help you explore our home state like a local. We also put effort into hiring only the best Anchorage tour guides. After all, the guide makes the tour.

At Alaskan Sights & Bites, we’re still writing our story, and we love nothing more than helping people create an exciting chapter in their own. As Alaskans born and raised, we’ve heard every tale about our special state. These kinds of stories say so much about a place and its people, and they’re key to forming a deeper connection to a new destination.

Our Anchorage tour guides are gifted storytellers. We’ve got tales aplenty about fun and fascinating characters from Alaska’s history — as well as our own amusing personal anecdotes of growing up in such a unique place. We don’t just show you around on a cookie-cutter tour. We use our stories and experiences to create a journey with depth, color, and context, so you can tell amazing tales of your own when you get home. Whichever tours you join us for, you’ll leave us with a deeper knowledge and appreciation for Alaska.

Our own story has its roots on the road. At different times, both Dan and Chris set out on solo adventures, leaving Alaska behind to travel the world. Their stories had all the ingredients of a masterpiece; the exhilaration of visiting one-of-a-kind places, tasting delicious food, and meeting extraordinary people.

Travel was the muse that inspired the creation of Alaskan Sights & Bites. We wanted to share our home with visitors — its distinctive culture, natural beauty, and tasty cuisine — just as people had shared theirs with us. The 49th state is renowned for its legendary, first-rate hospitality, so you can count on us to set the scene for some unforgettable moments on your vacation here.

We are passionate about showing our guests the local side of Anchorage. This means you’ll taste locally-sourced fare at our favorite establishments and see lesser-known sites. And since our mother raised us right, we’ll make sure you leave with your belly full, too!

We take pride in sharing our home with all guests on our tours, no matter their race, color, religion, nationality, or sex (including gender identity or sexual orientation). Our mission is to provide fun, insightful, and inclusive experiences and share the fascinating history, culture, and cuisine of the place we call home — the Land of the Midnight Sun.

This isn’t the end of our story, but it’s the start of yours. Browse our full range of Anchorage guided tours to start planning your adventure in Alaska.

  • Prioritize Unforgettable Experiences: Provide an immersive, entertaining, and educational experience for guests, ensuring they leave with full stomachs and enriched minds. Craft memories that will last a lifetime, capturing the essence of their time in Alaska through laughter, learning, and delectable flavors.
  • Cultivate a Supportive Environment: Foster a supportive and respectful work environment where employees are treated with dignity, paid a living wage, and encouraged to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Build a culture of collaboration and open communication, where every team member is valued and empowered to contribute to the success of the business.
  • Cherish Our Roots: Recognize that our brotherhood, family, and friends are the backbone of our success and integral to the growth of our business. Chris and Dan, the founding brothers, are grateful for the unwavering support of their parents, Roger and Diane Morris, Chris’s wife, Sully, and their loyal canine companions, Tayrona and Taroko.
  • Uphold Our Values: Conduct business with integrity, empathy, and compassion, while giving back to the community and state we love. As true Alaskans, we remain committed to promoting kindness, ethical practices, and social responsibility in all we do.
  • Nurture Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local partners, understanding their individual stories and contributions to the community. Collaborate to create a memorable and authentic Alaskan experience for our guests, showcasing their expertise, passion, and dedication to quality.
  • Enrich Through Storytelling: Engage guests with captivating stories and comedy that weave together the history, people, and flavors of Alaska. Make them laugh, cry, and feel connected to the community and its heritage.
  • Create an Inclusive Atmosphere: Actively seek to understand and appreciate the diverse backgrounds of guests, employees, and partners. Encourage equal opportunities for all, promote open dialogue, and foster an inclusive environment that makes everyone feel valued and respected, regardless of their race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, political affiliation, age, identity, or any other characteristic.
  • Celebrate Local Flavor: Showcase the best of Alaska’s culinary scene by partnering with locally-owned and operated restaurants, eateries, food trucks, street vendors, and bars. Highlight unique dishes sourced from Alaska or with interesting stories rooted in the state’s history and culture.
